Our markets are some of the fastest growing in the world, driven by huge population growth and low mobile penetration.

Around one billion people across Africa and the Middle East do not use, or are not covered by, mobile broadband – close to the combined population of Europe and the US. By 2050, the population in Africa and the Middle East is projected to increase by approximately 60% to 2.9 billion, far exceeding the 7% growth forecast across the rest of the world.

These drivers, together with strong GDP growth, a young and urbanising population and further smartphone adoption is expected to drive an estimated requirement of more than 30,000 points of service (‘PoS’) over the next five years in our nine markets. Each represents a potential new tenancy for our business and this organic growth opportunity exceeds the size of our portfolio today.
